WAUSAU, WI. – The City of Wausau is gearing up for the first election of 2026. The Spring Primary election is on Tuesday, February 17 for some voters on Wausau’s East side. Only 5 of the 25 City wards will have a primary election.
There is a primary election for District 6 Alderperson. Voters who live in wards 15 and 16 will vote for one between:
- Keene Winters,
- Mario Diaz
- Kristin Slonski
The two candidates who receive the most votes will advance to the Spring Election on April 7, 2026, for District 6 Alderperson.
There is a primary election for the D.C. Everest School Board. Voters who live in Wards 3, 5, and 7 and in the D.C. Everest School District will vote for two between:
- Yee Leng Xiong
- Bill Conway
- Jennifer Douck
- Tony Eilers
- Daron Juneau
The four candidates who receive the most votes will advance to the Spring Election on April 7, 2026, for D.C. Everest School Board.
If voters can’t make it to the polls on Tuesday, February 17, they can vote either by mail or in person absentee. Absentee ballots will be mailed to voters with applications on file by January 27. In person absentee voting will be held in the City of Wausau:
- Tuesday, February 3 through Friday, February 6 from 8:30am – 4:30pm, and
- Monday, February 9 through Friday, February 13 from 8:30am – 4:30pm, and
- Saturday, February 14 from 8:00am – 12:00pm
