WAUSAU, WI. – The City of Wausau will now list all public notices of meetings of the City Council, committees, boards, and commissions on the City Meeting Calendar on CivicPlus. The calendar which previously housed the public notices of meetings will transition to a community notice calendar called the Community Calendar. This will provide better communication to city residents and visitors about events and occurrences associated with city departments in a clear manner.
The City Meeting calendar will be housed on the CivicPlus Public Portal in accordance with open meeting laws. The portal is also where members of the public can access meeting packets and approved minutes of past meetings. CivicPlus features a more accessible search feature to look up specific agenda items and meetings. For more information on how to utilize the Public Portal, please visit the CivicPlus article summary of this feature.
The Community Calendar will list events and notices of occurrences associated with city departments such as events that have received a special event license, neighborhood group meetings and events, firework occurrences, community engagement sessions, and other notifications.
Those who have signed up to receive emailed notifications of meetings will now receive emails from both the Community Calendar and the City Meetings calendar when either is updated. We encourage residents, who have not done so already, to sign-up to be notified by clicking "SIGN UP" at the top-right corner of the city website where anyone can become subscribed to both calendars.
"We are excited to provide another way to communicate with residents on what is going on in their city," said Kaitlyn Bernarde, Wausau City Clerk.
