Project Overview

In February 2020, the Wausau Center Mall was purchased by the Wausau Opportunity Zone, Inc. (WOZ) with funding from the Dwight and Linda Davis Foundation and the Judd S. Alexander Foundation. Demolition and Redevelopment Plans

By May 2021, most of the mall was demolished, except for the parking ramps, the former JCPenney building, and the HOM store. To lead the first phase of redevelopment, WOZ hired T. Wall Enterprises to construct a mixed-use building featuring:

• Underground parking facilities
• First-floor retail spaces

City Infrastructure Enhancements

The City of Wausau is collaborating with Becher-Hoppe and SRF to upgrade the site’s infrastructure. Plans include:
