Mall Redevelopment

In May 2021, Wausau embarked on a significant transformation by demolishing the aging mall, sparing only the parking ramps, the former JCPenney building, and the HOM Furniture store. This bold move paved the way for a mixed-use development spearheaded by T. Wall Enterprises. The project envisions 153 modern apartments complemented by underground parking and ground-floor retail spaces, with construction slated to commence in Spring 2023. This initiative aims to rejuvenate the downtown area, fostering a vibrant community hub.

Riverfront Development

Capitalizing on its picturesque Wisconsin River frontage, Wausau has completed an extensive river's edge trail system, a unique regional playground, and miles of landscaped amenities. These enhancements have transformed the riverfront into a dynamic space for recreation and community gatherings.
